Hepatitis B vaccination will be necessary for those individuals who are involved with patient care and may come in contact with body substances or fluids (refer to internship description for details). Students are encouraged to obtain annual season influenza vaccines in advance. Otherwise, they may be obtained at Hunterdon Medical Center’s Occupational Health Services. Documentation for fit testing for N-95 respirator mask is required prior to patient contact. For students only, if the fit testing documentation is not obtained, the student may not enter and patient room that is under isolation that requires N-95 respirator. Individuals will be required to obtain their own immunizations, PPD and fit testing through their agency, school or family physician. If they can’t obtain their own, HMC Occupational Health can administer. Occupational Health can be reached at 908-788-6146. PPD must have been placed and read within the past 12 months from start date. Individuals (except students) pay for their own immunizations, drug screening, PPD and fit testing.

Criminal Check: Everyone will be given the number for TABB to have their own criminal check run if they don’t already have one in the past 12 months. If students are in a clinical rotation with their school (ex: Dietitians or RN’s) and a criminal check was performed by the school upon entering the rotation that will be acceptable even if it’s beyond the 12 month period, but still within the rotation period. Checks must be run in every state they have lived or worked in the past 7 years. Individuals pay for their own criminal check. TAAB can be reached at 908-879-2323.
