Partners of the Heart

“Partners of the Heart” is a volunteer cardiac support group comprised of volunteers who have experienced a cardiac event during their lifetime and now live productive, healthy lives. The group’s mission is to inspire hope to others like themselves.

The purpose of the group is to:

  • Provide an extension and continuation of non-medical support to patients and their families after they experience a cardiac event.
  • Inspire hope for recovery.
  • Encourage people to become active participants in their personal health care by making necessary lifestyle changes.
  • Provide a positive transition to healing through reassurance, compassion and inspiration.

Our Partners of the Heart volunteers have completed hospital orientation and received additional training.

The Partners of the Heart volunteers are integral members of our health care team, adding a component to care that others simply cannot. Their personal experiences allow them to give the same support they received during their time of need to others and express their gratitude.

For information about becoming a “Partner of the Heart” volunteer, contact the Hunterdon Healthcare Volunteer Services Department at 908-788-6140.
